The Mist

A poem by Isabelle Sorrells

Phantom ships

Floating in and out

Of the mist.

There and gone,

Your mind doubting it they were ever there.

Ghosts of past voyages

And sunken crews

Manning lost and broken vessels –

The kind long forgotten to the living.

Each given the fate

You can only hope not to receive

On your last voyage,

Whenever that may be.
