A poem by Isabelle Sorrells
I remember
When I was a child
There was nothing more refreshing
And exciting
Than a grownup who would play with us.
They would bring a new level of challenge
And would make the game all the better.
I strive to hold on to that feeling,
Those memories,
And the be that adult.
I want to be the one who never forgets
My childhood and holds on to the good things,
The playfulness,
The imagination.
And I want to in turn
Bring joy to my kids’ faces and memories
And play with them too,
Every chance I get.
