Not Meant To Be

A poem by Isabelle Sorrells

Left behind

Abandoned for something better

Eyes open to his and hers incompatibility,

Sad at its truth but relieved at the revelation.

Billowing skirts disappear through the hills

Sparks of sunlight glinting off her gown.

When she’s out of sight

He turns back to the music

And finds a new dance.
