Lighthouse

A poem by Isabelle Sorrells

I walked a path not known to many

In search for things I’ve never seen

And places I’ve never been.

Beyond the rocks

And up the hill

Upon the cliff

Stood a tower

Long forgotten.

Spiraling up the spire,

I ascended the rusted steps,

And looked out at a hidden and unseen view.

Further I ventured within this house of light

And found a world with a past for me to explore.
