My Personal Musicians

A poem by Isabelle Sorrells

Neighbors may complain of the sound

But sometimes strong volume

Is necessary to feel.

To sit alone in a club,

Lights low,

Leaned back and eyes closed,

To soak in the sound waves

As a one-man audience –

The only audience needed

For the band to play

On the stage above.
