A poem by Isabelle Sorrells

We frolicked through the soft grass,

Breeze breathing through our clothes –

The sky drifting slowly overhead.

The shadows of clouds brushed over the hills

And we chased them down

And out ran them –

As if we would lose the day if we didn’t.

As if summer itself was at stake.

It was a race we wouldn’t let ourselves lose.
